Message of the month

Aerocardal, a company with over three decades of experience in charter and executive flights, reaffirms its commitment to the development of private air transportation in Chile and Latin America. Since 1990, we have focused our operations on providing efficient and safe air solutions for the transport of passengers, executives, technical teams, and critical patients. Our operations base, located at Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport, features the country’s first FBO, specially designed to serve corporate aircraft, crews, and passengers.

The sustained growth of the executive aviation sector in the region has driven us to strengthen our fleet of jets, turboprops, and helicopters, adapting to the evolving needs of our clients. Today, we operate aircraft with capacities ranging from 8 to 19 passengers, covering any destination within the Americas, always upholding the highest standards of safety and punctuality.

The Latin American executive jet market has reached an estimated value of USD 640 million in 2025, with an expected annual growth rate of 15.6% through 2033, according to Market Report Analytics. This trend is directly reflected in Chile, where corporate flights are steadily increasing, driven by strategic sectors such as mining, energy, and foreign investment. While domestic air traffic showed a slight year-on-year contraction in July 2025, the demand for private flights has continued to grow, driven by the need for direct and efficient connections to hard-to-reach areas.

Moreover, 77% of regional air traffic now flows through airports managed with private participation, which encourages investment in specialized infrastructure and strengthens the corporate aviation ecosystem. In this context, Aerocardal will continue to invest in technology, maintenance, and personalized services to consolidate our position as the leading executive flight operator in Chile.

Our operation is geared toward companies, public entities, and private users who require high connectivity and operational flexibility. Boarding in under 15 minutes, landings at terminals separate from commercial traffic, and point-to-point planning allow us to ensure efficiency, safety, and full control of the itinerary.

We remain available to meet your needs for executive flights, air ambulance services, and charter operations—always with the technical, human, and logistical support that has defined Aerocardal since its beginnings.

Sincerely, Ricardo Real – CEO Aerocardal

The Navy’s Twelfth Squadron receives its sixth H135 Nival helicopter.

The recent activation of the Navy’s Dédalo 25 Expeditionary Combat Group has once again highlighted the multiple capabilities provided by the Airbus Helicopters H135, of which the Navy now has six units following the latest delivery last week.

On July 15, the Navy received its sixth H135 P3H helicopter, which will be incorporated into the Twelfth Squadron of the Aircraft Flotilla (FLOAN). The H135 Joint Program Office of the Directorate General of Armament and Material (DGAM), which manages the procurement process, transferred the helicopter to the Navy at the Airbus Helicopters Spain facilities in Albacete. The aircraft are received there after being built at the company’s plant in Donauwörth, Germany, and customized to meet the client’s specifications.

That same day, the helicopter — designated NIVAL 1206 by its radio code — completed a direct two-and-a-half-hour flight from Airbus’s facilities in La Mancha to Rota Naval Base (Cádiz), the main headquarters of FLOAN.

The transfer of the final aircraft included in Phase I of the H135 Joint Program for the Navy, designated NIVAL 1207, is scheduled for next September, also in Albacete.

Leonardo strengthens its portfolio of cyber solutions internationally with the goal of achieving “zero trust” leadership in Europe.

Leonardo will strengthen its portfolio of cyber solutions with an increasingly international outlook through the acquisition of a 24.55% stake in SSH Communications Security Corporation (“SSH”), a Finnish cybersecurity company. This €20 million investment aligns with Leonardo’s Industrial Plan, updated in March, and reinforces the company’s European leadership in Trusted Cybersecurity. The initiative, which also makes Leonardo SSH’s only industrial investor, marks a significant step toward the development of a “Zero Trust” ecosystem that is “Made in Europe.”

“Cybersecurity represents one of the strategic growth areas of our Industrial Plan. With this acquisition, Leonardo expands its portfolio internationally, positioning itself as a key player to lead the Zero Trust revolution in Europe. The agreement combines SSH’s technological expertise with Leonardo’s technologies and solutions, advanced assets and services, and sector-specific knowledge. In an environment where threats are evolving rapidly and regulations are becoming more stringent, organizations increasingly require advanced, future-ready solutions,” said Roberto Cingolani, CEO and General Manager of Leonardo.

Executive Aviation and Sustainability in Latin America: A Growing Commitment

Chile Reaches Historic Peak in Air Travel During the First Half of 2025

The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) reported that between January and June 2025, more than 14.3 million people flew to domestic or international destinations, a record that motivates the industry to aim for Chile to become a major hub for connections.

Specifically, this figure represents the best first half of the year in the country’s aviation history, also showing that international traffic increased by 9.2% during this year.

In response, the Chilean Association of Airlines (Achila) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) told El Mercurio that Chile has great potential “to grow in mobility and tourism.”

“Nationally, the sustained growth of the sector after the pandemic presents a great opportunity to expand the domestic air route network, which is essential to improving internal connectivity,” they stated.

They also affirmed that “Chile continues to be a global tourism reference, which encourages airlines to consider opening new direct routes to high-potential markets. This promotes competition and generates direct benefits for passengers.”

In this regard, they added that public-private collaboration is essential to ensure the proper conditions.
