The Chilean Airline Association (Achila) and the Federation of Tourism Companies of Chile (Fedetur) expressed their dissatisfaction with the strike carried out by employees of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC), which was called off on Friday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

This initiative is part of the modernization and maintenance program for these aircraft, aiming to elevate safety and operational standards. The implementation will be completed by 2028. It integrates sophisticated sensors and algorithms, enabling continuous evaluation of flight conditions and providing rapid interventions in dangerous situations. In scenarios of disorientation or stress, this system acts proactively, allowing pilots to stay focused on their missions without compromising safety.<\/span><\/p>\n

With this advancement, the Chilean Air Force ensures the reduction of CFIT (Controlled Flight Into Terrain) incidents, a well-known risk in military aviation. The AGCAS has proven effective in critical situations, demonstrating its capability to prevent aerial disasters. The mobilization is a response to the government’s failure to fulfill agreements regarding the Supervision Bonus for DGAC personnel as outlined in the 2025 Budget Law. According to the DGAC, this bonus aims to provide justice and recognition for the inspection duties that these public servants are required to carry out by legal mandate.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of this mobilization, the agency under the Chilean Air Force has called on its operational and administrative staff to slow down services at all airports and aviation units. This situation has caused delays and disruptions in flights, as well as in the provision of other air transport-related services.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Commander of the Chilean Group, Commander-in-Chief of the 1st Air Brigade, Air Brigadier General (A) Nelson Pardo Ocaranza, has highlighted the operational readiness of both the air assets and personnel of the Chilean Air Force (FACh) during the early stages of the multinational exercise CRUZEX 2024 at the Natal Air Base in Brazil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Focusing on the high level of competence, both in air operations and maintenance tasks carried out by the delegation, General Pardo stated: “They have fulfilled the assigned operational role, demonstrating professionalism, rigor, and standardization in every mission,” emphasizing the completion of the missions corresponding to Phase II and Phase III of the exercise, where the scenarios progressively become more complex.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Chilean Air Force has deployed five F-16 Block 50 fighter jets from the Aviation Group No. 3 of the 1st Air Brigade and a KC-135 aircraft from the Aviation Group No. 10 of the 2nd Air Brigade to Brazil. They departed on November 3rd for Natal to participate in the exercise, which brings together 16 countries, 100 aircraft, and over 2,000 personnel. The exercise aims to enhance interoperability among the participating air forces, validate tactics, and share experiences in the use of Air Power in planned and executed missions under NATO methodology.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
